Meet The Rector
Fr. George Willcox Brown, III
The Rev’d George Willcox Brown III (Will) was born and raised in Georgia, and ordained a priest in the Diocese of Georgia in 2005. He served for twelve years in the Diocese of Dallas (Texas), before returning to Georgia in 2018. He enjoys reading and writing, is an avid hunter, fisherman, and birder, an amateur naturalist, and passionate about environmental stewardship and wildlife conservation. He worked for several years as a consultant in the area of marine fisheries policy. He writes regularly for Covenant, the online journal of the Living Church, and is the author of “A Catechism of Nature” (Wipf & Stock, 2021). He and his wife, Kate, have one son, and are expecting a daughter. They are the proud and beleaguered owners of an English Cocker Spaniel named Beau. Fr. Brown studied philosophy as an undergraduate at the University of the South (Sewanee), and theology at Yale Divinity School. As a Thomas J. Watson Fellow, he spent a year living with Christian monks and nuns in Europe, Africa, and the South Pacific.
